Godfred Ankomah
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dr. Ankomah is currently working on a USDA NRCS-funded project focused on optimizing nitrogen (N) management in sugar beet production. The overarching goal of the project is to promote the wider adoption of improved nutrient stewardship for sugar beet production in Nebraska and Colorado. The project will be on farm trials (50 farms over a four-year period) evaluating the agronomic, economic, and environmental benefits of utilizing reduced N fertilizer inputs for sugar beet production.
Dr. Ankomah earned his Ph.D. in Crop and Soil Sciences from the University of Georgia in the summer of 2025. His Ph.D. research focused on integrating sustainable management practices such as conservation tillage, cover crops, and organic amendments (broiler litter and biochar) to improve soil health and row crop productivity. Ankomah's main research interests are soil conservation and nutrient management. His career objective is to work as a Soil Scientist and contribute to improving soil health and ensuring the long-term sustainability of crop production.
